ProLogium Technology, a solid-state battery (SSB) manufacturer, announced that it has finished its Series D financing led by BOCGI and FAW Group. Beforehand, the firm had received continuous investment from SBCVC and dGav Capital. The new round of financing will be used for construction of their second mass production plant, the 1-2GWh line will accelerate commercialization of solid-state battery.

“Bringing solid-state battery to market is never an easy task, we appreciate all the support from our investors and customers.  Receiving investment from BOCGI and FAW Group makes us more confident that the results of our effort are valuable and with great advancement.” Said Vincent Yang, CEO and founder of ProLogium. “After building several demonstration manufacturing line and receiving positive feedback from market and customer, we will proceed with the global expansion of SSB production capability through leveraging local capital or joint venture with local partners.”

ProLogium’s Advanced Solid-State Battery Technology
Founded in October 2006, ProLogium has spent more than 13 years developing oxide SSB technology, overcame challenges of mass production. While competitors are still working on material technology in lab, ProLoigum has already been capable of mass producing SSB and successfully create a brand new EV pack structure tailor-made for SSB, MAB pack, which was recognized with CES Innovation Awards and the Gold of Edison Awards.

ProLogium has announced MAB pack design before all CTP(cell to pack) technology was presented by other Chinese cell cooperation like CATL or BYD. Aiming to increase assembly efficiency of battery pack,  MAB shows advantages over conventional lithium battery’s CTP tech.

Base on intrinsically safe battery and patented BiPolar+ tech, ProLogium not only simplify MAB pack’s protection mechanism, BMS and cooling system but redesign the battery to put more power into one battery pack. Instead of connect batteries with wires, it series and parallel batteries by directly stacking electrode layers, create large batteries with high energy. This effectively reduce battery amount and the need for connection wires, with the fundamental design change, the space utility could be 60% higher than Tesla Model3.

This breakthrough can simultaneously eliminate two main problems that EV owners are facing: safety issue and range anxiety. If powered by MAB pack, the range can be extended to about 1.6 times (800km). In addition, a 12-minute recharge can give the EV another 640km, 6-minute for 480km.

ProLogium is targeting the global automotive market which worth multi-billion dollars, it realized the commercialization as early as 2013 and supplied customers in consumer electronic field. In the past few years, ProLogium has quicken the pace in approaching automotive battery market. Completed several sample SSB EVs with car brand in 2018-2019, it plans to cooperate with car makers in China, Europe and Japan in EV pack development and sample car building, bringing SSB EV to market together.

“ ProLogium’s progress in technology, product and business model innovation are impressing. We expect them to keep improving the capability and strategies to accomplish SSB industrialization. Start with China's booming electric car market, then provide the world with safer, better performing EV power solution.“ said Ke Liu, Investment Director of FAW Group.

With ProLogium's cutting-edge technology, ProLogium has got SBCVC's continuous financial investment from 2012. "We have witnessed in recent years the fast growth of ProLogium, and we expect it to lead an energy revolution by its innovation in both technology and business model" said Alan Song, Managing Partner of SBCVC.
