Hongqi, an iconic sedans brand of China's leading automaker , FAW Group, makes a glittering appearance at the Third NEXT Summit (Dubai 2019) held in Dubai. It is the main partner and the only official vehicle of the summit.

Arrived in Dubai last month, there are 20 Hongqi cars in service for the summit.

Hongqi vehicles are well received in Dubai for their modern design and ample interior space, which caters to the needs of the Arab market and brings a comfortable travel experience for consumers, according to local drivers and government officials.

Hongqi first arrived in Dubai last December, with its series H5 and H7, which provoked enthusiasm in the public. So far, 202 Hongqi vehicles have been put into use in Dubai, and another 1500 will be added to the market in 2020. To better serve Dubai users, a local service center and an exhibition hall have been established.

As Dubai is the commercial and logistics center of the Gulf region, Hongqi's entry into this market will function as a springboard for the Chinese brand to enter the Middle East market , according to industry insiders.

With the aim of becoming an international brand oriented to the market and attractive to young people, Hongqi has been actively establishing a global presence. He took the S9 own design and manufacturing supercar and the E115 fully electric SUV prototype to the International Automobile Fair held in Frankfurt in September, and was presented at the Dubai International Automobile Fair, held earlier this month.

To deepen innovation for broader development, Hongqi has built an international R&D team of 5,000 researchers and has its global R&D headquarters in Changchun, China , with the research center on technological innovation, the Institute of new energy research, the design research division and the artificial intelligence R&D center located respectively in Beijing , Shanghai, Munich and the Silicon Valley.

Hongqi, literally "red flag", was established in 1958, and has been used as a vehicle for parades in national celebrations. It is a brand of FAW, China's first automaker , established in 1953. FAW brands also include Jiefang and Besturn.
